Gilroy Santa Maria College students and staff came together for more than just a feed when the school hosted their R U OK? Day breakfast.
The morning provided students with a relaxed opportunity to catch up with friends and staff, and enjoy activities designed to bring everyone together. From lawn games to getting active on the dance floor, students were encouraged to spend time connecting with one another and enjoying a positive start to the school day.
The school encouraged students to remember that asking “R U OK?” is not limited to one day of the year, emphasizing simple ways to make a difference like taking the time to listen and encouraging someone to seek support.
The event stands as an example that meaning conversations can happen anytime, any place – we just need to be willing to take the time to sit down and listen.
