The clouds parted just in time for the Bingil Bay Makers Market on Saturday 12th September, with locals and visitors turning out for an afternoon showcasing the creativity of the community.
More than 10 stallholders spread through the garden from 3pm, with the market spilling out towards the front as a strong crowd filtered through.
There was a mix of first-time stallholders and familiar faces, with everything from art and plants to clothing, ceramics and handmade jewellery on offer.
Among the makers were Sally Moroney with her well-loved painted signs, Ebony Minchin with handmade jewellery. Tameka Dayalall of Wild Fern Ceramics, and Lisa Schrettenbrunner with copper jewellery.
Indi's Cassette also brought digital art and painted magnets to the mix, while Aimee Knott sold second-hand clothing.
Long-term Makers Market stallholder Nicky Bell said the afternoon wasn't just about shopping.
“It’s so much more than a market for us — it's a social time, and a learning opportunity for children with our community coming together,” she said.
With the rain holding off, locals and visitors had plenty of time to wander, chat and enjoy the afternoon.
