Mission Mosaic is finding its rhythm again, with five participants attending its latest gathering on Sunday, September 13.
Coordinators Marcia Baker and Diana Dade were delighted to welcome four newcomers to the session, marking the group’s third event since returning from a hiatus.
“We try to be welcoming, and we were really happy to have four beginners participating today,” they said.
Among the newcomers was Darcey Barham, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“It was my first time doing mosaic and I just loved it,” Darcey said. “It was so meditative! It was a great group.”
The relaxed gathering offered locals an opportunity to learn mosaic-making, develop their skills and spend time creating alongside others in a community setting. Beginners are encouraged to take part, with no previous mosaic experience needed.
Mission Mosaic currently meets on the second Sunday of every second month at Mission Beach Community Arts Centre, although growing interest has organisers considering a move to monthly workshops.
