Rates Notices Have Been Issued

Hinchinbrook Shire Council has issued its first half-yearly rates notices for the 2026-2027 financial year, with residents urged to check their mailboxes and inboxes.

Rates notices were issued on Wednesday 12th August, with residents who have not received their notice by Wednesday 26th August, asked to contact Council’s Revenue Team.

The full payment due date is Wednesday 30th September . Residents who pay their rates in full by the due date will automatically be entered into Council’s $2,000 Rates Incentive Scheme, with vouchers to be spent at local Hinchinbrook businesses.

The winner will be randomly drawn at a public Council meeting on Tuesday 27th October.

From Thursday 1st October, unpaid rates will accrue interest at 12.19 per cent per annum, compounded daily.

Residents experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to contact Council as early as possible to discuss payment arrangements and support options available under Council’s Financial Hardship Policy.

Rates can be paid online through BPoint, in person at the Council office or any Australia Post outlet, by phone using Visa or MasterCard, through BPAY or POSTbillpay, by cheque or money order, or by direct debit.
