From vintage Holdens and powerful Mustangs to lovingly restored classics and gleaming motorcycles, Tully is gearing up for a spectacular display of motoring history.

More than 100 cars and bikes are expected at FNQ Motor Group on the Bruce Highway on Saturday 7th November, for the inaugural Car and Bike Show & Shine.

‍

Organised with local motoring enthusiast Lyn Di Mauro, the free community event will bring car clubs and collectors from across the Cassowary Coast, Cairns and Tablelands, with families invited to come along, admire the vehicles, meet their proud owners and enjoy a fun morning out.

‍

The Lions Club will serve up a sausage sizzle, Cardwell Coast Guard will offer fish and chips, and a coffee stall will keep visitors refreshed.

FNQ Motor Group general manager and business partner Justin Ryan said the dealership would clear its vehicle yard to accommodate exhibitors and spectators.

‍

Justin said the region was home to some remarkable vehicles, many rarely seen outside their owners' sheds.

‍

"In the local area, there are a lot of hidden gems when it comes to automotive," he said.

"And many of the owners have built them from the ground up – with a lot of blood, sweat and tears."

‍

The show offers owners an opportunity to share their painstaking restoration work and visitors a chance to appreciate their craftsmanship.

FNQ Motor Group took over the Tully and Innisfail dealerships in May 2023. While the business represents five of the top automotive brands, Justin admits he has a soft spot for classic Ford models.

"If there is a nice ‘XC Ford Falcon - that would be something that I'd look forward to seeing, and I know we're likely to have a few of those on display at the show," he said.

‍

Justin also hopes the show will become an annual event, celebrating the passion of local motoring enthusiasts.

“This is a chance for the proud owners of some incredible vehicles to bring them out of the shed, share their stories and give the whole community something to enjoy,” he said.

‍

FNQ Motor Group is providing the venue and $500 in lucky draw prizes for vehicle entrants. Exhibitors are asked for a gold coin donation, with proceeds going to charity. The show runs from 8.30am to 12.30pm at FNQ Motor Group, 59432 Bruce Highway, Tully. Spectator entry is free.
