Local sporting clubs and community members are being encouraged to recognise the people who give their time behind the scenes, with nominations now open for the 2026 Australian Sports Commission Sport Volunteer of the Year Award.
The award provides an opportunity to celebrate the dedication of volunteers who help keep community sport running, whether they are coaching, organising teams, managing clubs, supporting events or simply lending a hand wherever they are needed.
Often giving their time week after week without seeking recognition.
The Australian Sports Commission is calling on the community to nominate a sport volunteer who has made a meaningful contribution to their club, sport or local community.
Nominations are now open, so if there is a local sporting volunteer who consistently goes above and beyond, now is the opportunity to put their name forward and celebrate the contribution they make to community sport.
