Lions Club Help Protect Children's Eyesight Across The Cassowary Coast

The Lions Club of Tully is continuing its long tradition of community service by helping protect the eyesight of local children through the Lions Children's Vision Screening Program.

As part of the Australia-wide initiative, club members have been visiting local primary schools to conduct free vision screenings, helping identify potential eye conditions that may otherwise go unnoticed during a child's early years.

‍

The program is designed to detect vision issues before they begin affecting a child's learning, development and everyday life, allowing families to seek further assessment and treatment if required.

Lions Club of Tully Secretary Irene Braddick said supporting the local community had always been at the heart of the club's mission, with children's eye health becoming one of its many valued community initiatives.

‍

Members also support programs including childhood cancer research, eye health, children's mobility, wellbeing initiatives and assistance dogs.
