Residents and businesses across the Cassowary Coast are invited to visit the nbn Local information stall to learn more about the latest upgrades available across the region and how to get the most from their internet connection.
Thousands of homes and businesses across the Cassowary Coast are now benefiting from significant upgrades to the nbn network, providing more opportunities to connect, work, learn and do business online. These local upgrades include full fibre availability to more than 9,200 premises across communities including Belvedere, Bingil Bay, Cardwell, Flying Fish Point, Innisfail, Mission Beach, South Mission Beach, Tully, Wangan, Wongaling Beach and many others.
For eligible customers currently connected via older copper technologies, upgrading to full fibre can unlock access to higher-speed plans and deliver a range of benefits including smoother video calls, enhanced streaming, faster downloads, quicker response times for gaming and the ability to connect more devices simultaneously, such as smart TVs, security systems and smart home technology.
Regional communities are also benefiting from major improvements to the nbn Fixed Wireless network through the Fixed Wireless Upgrade Program. Backed by a $750 million investment from the Australian Government and NBN Co, the upgrade has delivered increased capacity, faster speeds and improved coverage for regional Australia. Eligible Fixed Wireless customers can now access higher-speed wholesale plans, with Fixed Wireless Home Fast available across most of the upgraded footprint.
