Forget the traditional travel agency or spending hours down an online rabbit hole. With 28 years in the industry, Mission Beach-based travel specialist Nannette Gledhill knows a thing or two about creating unique holiday experiences. Through her business, Red Skies Travel, she specialises in personalised international travel, taking care of everything from complex itineraries and connections to those special experiences that make a holiday truly memorable.
“If you want a detailed, tailor-made itinerary, great. That is what I specialise in,” Nannette said.
“I particularly love it when clients present me with a bucket list of places they want to go and tell me they have two months to travel.”
Having established Red Skies Travel in 2005, she has built a loyal following, with around 95 per cent of her business coming from repeat clients and referrals.
From exploring South America and cruising Europe's great rivers to discovering India's colourful culture, Nanette takes care of the countless details that can make independent travel daunting, removing much of the guesswork and uncertainty.
Each year, she also personally hosts around three small-group international holidays, often introducing travellers to destinations they've dreamed of visiting but might hesitate to tackle alone.
Her upcoming adventures include a Mekong River cruise, a European river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest and a small-group tour of Uzbekistan. She's also developing itineraries for 2028, including the Galápagos Islands and the Caucasus.
What makes these experiences special is the personal attention, from extended stays and private excursions to special-interest activities.
“I listen to what people say, and want,” Nannette explained.
Her expertise also extends beyond hosted tours, creating holidays and memorable experiences for couples, friends and multigenerational families.
