Hinchinbrook Shire Council will conduct an aerial shooting program to control feral pig populations across participating land parcels and properties between Forrest Beach and Crystal Creek.
Subject to suitable weather conditions, the operation is scheduled for Thursday 17th September and Friday 18th September, from 5am to 7pm each day.
For public safety, access to the National Parks Estate, Bronte Road and Halifax Bay Wetlands will be closed during the operation. Access to huts located on Bronte Road will be permitted outside the planned control hours.
The program is funded by the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation; Department of Natural Resources, Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development; Herbert Cane Productivity Services Limited; and HQ Plantation, in association with Hinchinbrook Shire Council.
