Basques In Australia Photographic Exhibition
Saturday 30 August – Saturday 6 September at Hinchinbrook Shire Library, 73–75 McIlwraith Street, Ingham.
Discover the rich history of the Basque community in North Queensland through this special exhibition.. Many Basque immigrants played a key role in the sugar and tobacco industries across Ayr, Ingham and Mareeba, and their legacy continues today.  Celebrate this unique cultural heritage and the enduring Basque-Australian story.

This powerful student-led exhibition explores the multifaceted nature of adolescence—capturing the emotions, challenges, and triumphs that define the teenage experience. Now in its 9th year, this popular junior rugby league carnival will bring together 32 Under 8 teams from across Queensland for a day of fun, participation and sportsmanship. With around 3000 visitors expected, it’s a family-friendly event that celebrates community spirit and the next generation of players. Entry $5 per adult.
