From the cane fields to the banana farms, local farmers are being encouraged to put themselves forward for a chance at finding love on national television.
Eureka Productions, the team behind Seven's Farmer Wants A Wife, has specifically called on farmers from the Hinchinbrook and Cassowary Coast regions to apply for the show's 2027 season.
It is not the first time a local farmer has stepped into the spotlight, with Innisfail tropical fruit farmer Sam Reitano appearing on Farmer Wants A Wife in 2020.
“We love showcasing Queensland on the series and the diversity of its landscapes, communities and agricultural industries, so it would be fantastic to see more North Queensland farmers represented in our casting pool.” a Eureka Productions spokesperson said.
“Cane growers and producers from across the region are absolutely encouraged to apply,” the spokesperson said.
“Personality is also a big part of casting, and we love meeting farmers who are passionate about what they do and where they live, have connection to their family and/or community, and can give us a real sense of their life on the land.
“They don’t need to be the loudest in the room, just willing and open to sharing their thoughts with us.”
The 2027 casting search is now open, with locals welcomed to nominate someone they think could be a star.
