QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket is looking forward to welcoming the Townsville City Autosports Club and competitors back to the district for the Forest Rally from 28th to 30th August.
The rally cars will make a stop at the QCWA hall in Abergowrie in the Service Park, giving locals the chance to get up close to the vehicles and meet some of the teams before they head out for the weekend's competition.
QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket spokesperson said the branch was happy to once again play a part in the busy weekend.
“We are very happy to again host the Townsville City Autosports Club Forest Rally,” the spokesperson said.
“This event is a busy, fun weekend for the rally participants as well as our branch members.”
The branch will also be keeping competitors and crews looked after throughout the weekend, with members helping provide accommodation and meals as the teams prepare for the rally.
The Friday evening car display in Ingham offers an opportunity for the wider community to join in the excitement before Saturday's competition gets underway.
Spectators can also head out onto the backroads on Saturday to watch the rally cars tackle the stages.
The stop at the QCWA hall offers a chance to see the cars at close range and experience some of the atmosphere before the weekend's action begins.
The QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket branch is encouraging locals to come along, check out the cars and enjoy the start of another Forest Rally weekend in the district.
