Painting Ingham On The Tourist Map

The quiet laneway beside Hinchinbrook Shire Council’s Lannercost Street building is set to become the latest addition to Ingham’s growing collection of public art and photo-worthy attractions.

The Community Interactive Laneway Project will see the laneway transformed through a new mural created in partnership with local visual art high school students, adding another colourful and interactive feature to the town’s streetscape.

‍

The project builds on the existing Tones and I mural, with the vision of creating a series of artistic spaces where locals and visitors can stop, take photographs and experience another side of Ingham’s creative identity.

Work on the project will be carried out in stages throughout August and early September, with mural painting scheduled for August 17^th to 19^th.

‍

The laneway will be temporarily closed during some stages of the project, including equipment installation from August 6^th to 8^th and the mural painting from August 17^th to 19^th.

The Community Interactive Laneway Project is funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Hinchinbrook Shire Council supporting local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
