Christmas might still be a couple of months away, but the Tully & District Chamber of Commerce is already preparing to bring some festive magic to the streets – and they need all the helpers they can get!

‍

Chamber President Evelyn Watson is calling on local businesses, community groups and residents to lend a hand in making this year's Tully Christmas Street Party a celebration to remember.

‍

The annual event is a much-loved tradition, bringing families into town to enjoy colourful displays and performances, gift stalls, Christmas music, festive fun and, of course, a visit from Santa.

‍

But behind the excitement is a great deal of planning, preparation and hard work, much of it carried out by a small team of dedicated volunteers. From organising decorations to coordinating activities, setting up and packing away, there are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved.

The Chamber plays an important role in Tully's community life, helping to organise and promote events that bring people into town and support local businesses.

‍

Among these is the popular Read to Me Day, which encourages a love of reading among local children while bringing schools, families and community members into the heart of town.

‍

The Christmas Street Party is another highlight of the Chamber's calendar, providing an opportunity for businesses, sporting clubs, schools and community organisations to join in the festivities.

‍

For Evelyn and her fellow Chamber members, the challenge is making sure there are enough willing hands to bring it all together.

And you don't need to be a Chamber member to help. Whether you can spare a few hours in the lead-up, lend a hand on the day or encourage your workplace or community group to participate, every contribution will make a difference.

‍

It's also a chance for new faces to get involved, meet people and help keep one of Tully's favourite traditions alive.

With Christmas fast approaching, the Chamber's message is simple: the more helpers, the merrier!
